Our 2nd Annual Oktoberfest was deemed a huge success! Singing along with the oom-pah band and the Tigard High School Senior Choir, a good time was enjoyed by all. And, the Chicken Dance was a hit also. Good bier, good food, good company – what more could you want for this annual beer festival! Oktoberfest was originally celebrated as the wedding party for the prince of Germany and his bride, and the Munich-based festival to this day spans several weekends. But you can get as close as possible to the real deal at this two-day festival. Black and Tans, Irish food, great green beer and "The Heather and The Rose", a wonderful 7-piece Irish group rounded out the fun. Red Revolution! February 29, 2008 - Jaime's new brew released - a delicious red ale. Round and creamy on the front, good hop backbone to clean up the end and leave you thirsting for another sip. 6.5%ABV Oktoberfest! Friday and Saturday, September 28-29th Max's Oktoberfest celebration kicked off Friday at 4:00pm with the tapping of our new Oktoberfest beer. There were German sausages, grilled chicken and roasted whole pig available with additional festival seating under tents. The Oktoberfest atmosphere was completed with authentic German music and German Spaten Oktoberfest beer on tap so you could compare and see for yourself why we all love Max's! Join us next year! Also, Max's Fanno Kreik could make a showing. (Dubbel aged in oak with cherries) Friday, June 1st Max is pulling out a keg of Frambois Beer (Dubbel aged in oak with raspberries) today. Kick off Fruit Beer Fridays - Bring a lady to dance with and enjoy! GRAND OPENING! May 5th & 6th from 11:30 – 11:30 On tap were: Farmer's Daughter Golden Ale IPA Max's Nit Wit Stout Scottish 100 Shilling Try all 6 above beers in our $6 sampler tray! PLANNED EVENTS Watch our website for the following: Trivia Night – once a week. European board games – 1 night a week. Monthly Fiestas – traditional event dates, or our own creation! Outdoor barbecues – in good weather. Special occasion fine dining meal - can be reserved in advance. Our Chef can prepare any meal in our full kitchen. Your special occasion(s) – birthdays, etc. We will offer something free. Saturday Morning Speakers - experienced speakers on various topics - travel, issues affecting families, outdoor activities, cooking, crafts – whatever we, or you, believe would be interesting, educational and informative – NO CHARGE. Other regularly scheduled events we, or you, suggest. Brewing Beer Friday, February 22nd - We brewed our first batch today. A nice Scottish Ale that we hope to be offering at our opening. It might take a few batches to get the kinks out of the great new system, but this batch is already looking very promising. Keep you fingers crossed!
